But, as the story progresses, Walter is betrayed by Phyllis and they become an enemy. At first, they were working together to pursue each other’s happiness. Especially in this assignment, the assignment’s goal was to analyze the interaction between anti-hero and femme fatale in the novel. Walter Huff is the anti-hero and Phyllis Nirdlinger is the femme fatale. This assignment helped me to analyze the interaction between characters in the noir fiction, Double Indemnity, Walter Huff and Phyllis Nirdlinger. This assignment helped me to understand the two important characters that appear in the noir fiction: an anti-hero and a femme fatale.
